Just who is YOUR 6th grade language arts teacher? I am Elisa Westfall, and this is my 21st year teaching Language Arts at CrossRoads Intermediate School.
I love teaching language arts and people often ask me why. The answer is simple: I think that 6th grade language arts students are the coolest kids around! I firmly believe that this is the absolute best grade, and this year I will prove it to you. I am a National Board Certifed English/Language Arts teacher and earned both my BA and MA in Education from the home of the “Fighting Koalas,” Columbia College!
My husband, 3 daughters, and I stay very busy with a cat, honey bees, and leopard geckos all of whom are FEMALE! My family loves to read, hike, and explore.
Here are few of my favorite things:
Books - The Watsons Go to Birmingham- 1963, Because of Winn Dixie, Wonder
Genres- Realistic fiction and poetry
Movies- The Sound of Music, Mamma Mia! (Watch out, I may sing!)
Food- Mashed potatoes and chocolate chip cookies (not together)
Condiment- Tabasco (I love it, and I put it on almost everything!)
Hobbies- reading, hiking, shopping, watching movies with my family
Stuff- chili peppers, coffee, fun pens, and BOOKS!
Fun times- ZUMBA!
This is going to be a great year!
