I have worked as a professional educator since completing my undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina in 1996. My service in School District Five of Lexington Richland Counties began with teaching Mathematics at Irmo Middle School Campus I. I left in 1999 to have and raise my three beautiful children, Alyssa, Ronnie and Jessi. In 2003, I returned to the classroom teaching Mathematics at Chapin Middle School. Through the years, I have taught several courses of Mathematics including four years of the intervention course Math Matters. It was during these years that I was selected as CMS Teacher of the Year and received my National Board certification in Early Adolescence Mathematics.
While teaching math, I supported my colleagues as a Teacher Technology Leader. This sparked my passion for technology integration and in 2009 I went on to receive my Masters Degree in Integrating Technology. I have been working as a Middle School Digital Integration Specialist since 2013 and find it rewarding to assist my colleagues and students enhance the curriculum through the use of technology.
When not working I enjoy my time with my husband Ron, our family and friends and can be found enjoying the sun and fun of Lake Murray!
