Ms. Sumner M. Bender
Sumner M. Bender is the Theatre Teacher at Spring Hill High School, she also teaches a semester long Public Speaking class. Ms. Bender is currently the President of the Board of Directors for Trustus Theatre and has been a company member with the organization since 2003. At SHHS Ms. Bender is the teacher sponsor for the Drama Club and Thespian Society. She directs a school wide play and musical each year. Audition dates and times are posted below. The Theatre program at Spring Hill High School's Mission is to:
- Develop creativity, artistic skills and professionalism in students through active programing.
- Encourage and develop skills in communication, problem solving, research, and effective writing through coursework and application in performance and production.
- Offer Honors and College Prep students to the opportunity to expand and perfect their knowledge of the literary, historical and philosophical aspects of theatre through a rich curriculum.
- Foster students' understanding and appreciation of the arts through general education courses and the production program.
