Mrs. Markeida Singleton

This is my 10th year of serving as a Special Education Teacher. I started my teaching career as an elementary inclusion teacher in Houston, Texas. Since then, I have gained experience as both a resource and self-contained teacher in grades 1-12.

Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, I completed my Bachelors of Criminal Justice with a minor in Black Studies at California State University of Long Beach. After completing my Bachelors, I spent a year abroad studying and volunteering at the University of Accra located in Ghana, West Africa. I went on to achieve my Masters of Public Administration at Texas Southern University. While working on my Masters, I also earned my certification in Special Education (Multi-Categorical), Elementary Education, and Early Childhood.

I have worked as a Special Education teacher in Lexington Richland 5 for nearly 3 years. Currently, I fulfill the role as a Learning Strategies teacher here at Irmo High School. Below are the courses I have the pleasure of teaching:
Employability Education I
Employability Education II
Career Prep 2-5
Learning Strategies (Resource)
Intermediate Algebra (Co-Teacher)
