Mrs. Amanda Rushe

I have worked as a professional educator since 1987.  I hold Bachelor of Music Education and Bachelor of Music Therapy degrees from Shenandoah University, and a Master’s degree in psychology from Florida State University.  I also received middle level math certification in 1988.   My  service in Lexington School District Five began with Dutch Fork Elementary School where I worked for nine years before moving to a math position in 2015  I also completed successfully the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification.  I currently teach Math 7 at Dutch Fork Middle.

My family includes my husband Randy, who is a physicist, my daughter, Laura, who is a CHS graduate and is a junior at Florida State University, and my son, Alex, who is a senior at Chapin HS.  Alex is in the marching band at CHS and we enjoy going to all of his competitions!

I enjoy watching college football, walking/jogging and working out.  I love the beach and the lake and being in and around the water!  I look forward to working with all of the students at DFMS!
