I have worked as a professional educator since 1987. I hold Bachelor of Music Education and Bachelor of Music Therapy degrees from Shenandoah University, and a Master’s degree in psychology from Florida State University. I received middle level math certification in 1988 and became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2004. I taught middle school chorus for 13 years and high school chorus for 6 years in Panama City Beach, Florida. My service in Lexington School District Five began with Dutch Fork Elementary School where I worked for nine years teaching music. I taught middle level math for four years, two of them being at Dutch Fork Middle. I am THRILLED to be entering my second year as the choral director at DFMS!
My family includes my husband Randy, who is a physicist, my daughter, Laura, who is a CHS graduate and a graduate of Florida State University, and my son, Alex, who just graduated from CHS and is a sophomore at Florida State University this year. GO NOLES!!! Both Laura and Alex are music majors...Laura in music therapy (voice) and Alex in Music Composition (oboe).
I enjoy watching college football, walking/jogging and working out. I love the beach and the lake and being in and around the water! I look forward to working with all of the chorus and music students at DFMS! We are going to have a FANTASTIC year!!!
