Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Candace Cain
This is my very first year in Lexington/Richland School District Five, and I am excited to make it a fantastic year! This will be my third year of teaching. My first year was in Dalton, GA as a pre-school Teacher. Last year was in my hometown of Benton, TN as a 7th grade ELA teacher. When someone asks me what I do for a living, I am always proud to say, "I am a teacher." I love being able to combine my passion and my job everyday!
I recently moved to South Carolina from Tennessee following my future husband's career advancement. In October, I will go from a Ms to a Mrs when I marry my fiance and best friend, Roger Newton. We will be living in Lexington, SC with his Golden Lab and my German Shepherd. I am excited to be Mrs. Newton!
I began my education at Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, TN where I received a dual athletic shcolarship in Baketball and Cross Country. I enjoyed every second of my athletic career including 3 conference championship titles in Basketball. I recieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with Emphasis in Math and Science. I later recieved an Endorsement in Middle Grades Mathematics, advancing my certificationm, and allowing me to teach Kindergarten through 9th grade.
