Mrs. Jessica Goff

I am entering my fifth year of teaching at Oak Pointe Elementary.  After a year teaching virtually with FIVE, I am excited to return my classroom and see bright smiling faces in person!  I am grateful for the "Green Hall" family, and how well we work together to serve our students and support eachother. I know after more than a year of unknowns we are all learning more and more to serve our students in whatever learning model we have or our students have.  Brainstorming and communication are the pillars to making our classroom and hall an exciting and loving home away from home for each of us and our students.  If I have the honor of serving as your child's teacher, just know that I'm not the only one seeing that he or she recieves the best this team has to offer.  We are all working together to make each day great.

IA little background about me...

My husband and I own Salty's Board Shop in downtown Columbia, and we were our own little team running the business together until I began teaching 5 years ago.  Now, I continue to play a big role with the shop outside of my time here at school, but he and I have both had to learn some new stuff over the past five years to keep it all together.  We have three pretty amazing children (two girls and a boy).  They are scattered between elementary, middle and high school at this time, and WOW, that's just a mess.  I'm sure if you are in that boat you know what I mean. We love spending time on the water whether it is playing on the river or lake, surfing on the coast, or snowboarding on any frozen precipitation we can find.  Our family loves adventure, the outdoors, and traveling to new places, but I do love to curl up by a fire and snuggle with all of them when they slow down enough to let me.  Wish me luck in getting those snuggles in.

Last year certainly dealt all of us a few challenges, and I don't expect this year to roll over for a belly rub either.  Just know that whatever comes our way, we will adjust our sails as we need.  Grace and flexibility will continue, and we will work together to make each day count.  I want all parents to know I am here to support you in any way possible.  You can reach me at jgoff@lexrich5.org or call (803)476-4157.  My door, my ears and heart are always open.
