Welcome to 7th & 8th grade ProTeam and Google Basics

Google Basics introduces students to the basic Google tools and focuses on collaboration, communication, and productivity through the completion of real-world, student-centered activites and projects.  Students will be using the Applied Education Systems Digital Classroom to complete assignments for Google Basics.  The students will learn how to use Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Calendar, and Google Forms.

The ProTeam Experience recognizes the need for all young people to develop a stronger sense of self as well as insights into working cooperatively with others. It is designed to identify young people who have the academic and social skills necessary to be successful in high school and college. The program is selective and only those students who have demonstrated good academic skills, good self-discipline, and good attitudes have been chosen to participate.

I am a native of Laurinburg, NC, and moved to SC after completing 20 years of service in the Army.  I live in Columbia, SC with my daughter Alisha, and my two dogs Sophie and Silver.  This is my fifth year teaching at Dutch Fork Middle School.  

I will be using Google Classroom extensively throughout the school term.  There you will find class assignments, due dates, announcements, class procedures, and the course syllabus.  You will also find assignment due dates on my Calendar on this web page.  I am located in Computer Lab C and will be available for tutoring and conferences as needed.  Students may also get a pass to come to Computer Lab C during their Den to work on assignments.

 I am excited to work with Dutch Fork Middle School students as they learn to master ProTeam and Google Basics skills, and look forward to a great semester!
