Mr. Phill Eason
I'm Phill Eason, the Instrumental Music Teacher at Nursery Road Elementary-Arts Magnet. I'm a lifelong musician but came into public school teaching in 2018 through the PACE alternative teaching certification program here in South Carolina. I spent years playing drums professionally, touring with Charleston's "Sol Driven Train" after graduating from Clemson. I also studied Jazz at College of Charleston, and then became an ordained Presbyterian (USA) minister after getting my Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. I have served churches, hospitals, and prisons as a pastor, but always carried the thread of music through my professional journey. I specialize in drumset, keyboards, composition, and I operate a recording studio. I also teach guitar and ukulele at NRES-AM.
I have two children that support my love for music in this new setting, Stevie and Josephine. As a hobby, I am the co-creator of "WOLF", an elaborate landscaping/golf hobby that falls into the category of "Urban Golf", which is highly popular in Europe. I continue to write musicals and songs for those I love, and I find time to play with other musicians at churches and side gigs. The best part of teaching elementary music has been learning new instruments and having this wonderful music studio to play in (like a kid) everyday. I'm truly blessed.
