Mr. Paul Maudlin

Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Paul Maudlin

This is my eleventh year of teaching and my first year at BES. It’s been a dream of mine to teach at Ballentine Elementary ever since I was a student-teacher here twelve years ago. I served as the 2010-2011 Teacher of the Year at CrossRoads Intermediate School and the 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year at Friedel Jewish Academy in Omaha, Nebraska.

What I Love Most About Teaching:

I love watching my students grow and make real-life connections to the things we learn in the classroom. I enjoy developing lifelong learners and helping students cultivate a curiosity for learning about the world around them.

Teaching Beliefs:

I believe all students have unique talents and giftedness. As one who struggled in school from time to time, I believe all students can learn with hard work and determination.

Fun Facts About Mr. Maudlin:

I’m originally from Springfield, Nebraska. I’m the town’s unofficial historian. I research stories by interviewing residents, and then share their stories online for others to enjoy. I travel almost every weekend to local historical sites to learn more about the region. I also like to travel to Africa in the summer. This July/August I will see the completion of a high school that I’ve been partnering with since 2012. The project is a combination of an elementary school, orphanage, and now a high school in Mombasa, Kenya.
