Hello! My name is Reggie Salazar and I am a US Army Veteran. I served my country for 24 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Infantry. I served in a variety of leadership positions all over the world finished my Army career here at Fort Jackscon, SC. Upon retirement from the military, I entered the field of education and have been teaching for the last five years at Chapin Middle School. My first two years here at Chapin Middle School I taught Spanish and for the last three years I have taught 7th grade Leadership (PRO TEAM) and 8th grade Financial Literacy. This year, I am excited to be teaching Financial Literacy again and also a new class at CMS called Multimedia Basics. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and I hold a Masters' degree in Business Management. It is an honor and a privilege to have your child in my class. I am so blessed to be in a position where I can help coach, teach, and mentor them as they grow and learn at the middle school level. I have a strong passion for our youth and it is my duty to help develop the next generation of citizens and leaders. I have served as the CMS School Improvement Council (SIC) Chairman from 2015-2017, 2019-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023. I am also a board member of the Chapin Eagle Club.
My family and I have lived in Chapin for 8 years and my wife Lauri and I have been married for 25years. We have two children, my daughter Sadie who is a 2021 Chapin High School graduate and is a Junior at Clemson University, and my son Owen, who is a Senior at Chapin High School. My hobbies include anything outdoors, watching sports, and physical fitness.
