    Welcome to your Library

We love books and reading, and the library is the heart of our school!  You are invited to visit the library media center to see our beautiful library and meet Harbison West's media specialist, Mrs. Hardy-Koverman aka "Mrs. HardKover" and media assistant, Mrs. Loadholdt.  Parents are welcome to sign up for a HWES library card and check books out of the school library for the whole family!

Reading makes you better at EVERYTHING!

Reading increases vocabulary, improves spelling, keeps the brain sharp, and is relaxing.  Make reading a part of your family's daily routine!

E-books and AudioBooks from the Public Library

Even when you're not at school, you can have access to e-books and audiobooks for FREE with a public library card. Click the link for your public library and find out how to get a card:

    Lexington County Public Library

    Richland County Public Library

Then, follow the directions on the public library's website to access their e-books and audiobooks on your tablet, phone, or other device.

    Lexington County Public Library:  e-books

    Richland County Public Library: e-books

I use OverDrive on my iPad and my iPhone.  Whenever I am going on a trip, I download a bunch of e-books and audiobooks.  My family and I listen to great books on our long drives to visit family.  You can too!  How to Train Your Dragon is my favorite audiobook series (WARNING: it's twelve books long and you'll be HOOKED!).
