Where Children Are Cherished And Challenged
PAWS Promise Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
CrossRoads Intermediate embraces our vision of being a place where children are cherished and challenged. The PBIS model is designed to address behaviors in the school environment that promote academic success.
What is PBIS?
PBIS is an acronym for “Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.” It teaches school-wide, positive expectations to promote and maximize academics while minimizing negative behaviors. PBIS encourages teachers to become proactive in the manner in which they manage their classroom. It allows our school to work effectively with students and parents to offer interventions and supports that ensure positive behaviors are exhibited by students in the school arena.
Our Motto and Expectations for students:
The CrossRoads Community includes students, teachers, parents, administration, volunteers, staff, business partners, and community members. The entire community expects each member of CrossRoads Intermediate School to: “Remember Your PAWS Promise:”
P stands for Personal Best
A stands for Acts Responsibly
W stands for Works and Plays Safely
S stands for Shows Respect
Be a Part of the PAWS Applause:
We are excited about using ‘PAWS’itive initiatives to continue our mission at CrossRoads. We strive “to educate sixth graders at the crossroads of childhood and adolescence in a nurturing environment characterized by high academic standards and rigorous curriculum, while providing the necessary tools for lifelong learning in an ever-changing and diverse society.” We encourage the students and parents to get involved and excited as well!
