I attended D5 during elementary school, but later graduated from Lexington High School in 1992. I then graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1997 with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications. After years in marketing/ public relations, I felt a burning desire to be in the classroom full-time after teaching several Junior Achievement classes. Ironically, I began my teaching career in 2005 at Blythewood Middle School, which is where I taught my first JA classes. At BMS, I taught English-Language Arts and a college-readiness program called AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). My belief has always been to help my students find a love for learning and confidence in themselves. After dedicating fifteen years to BMS, I had the opportunity to come to Chapin Middle School to take on the Drama Teacher position in 2019. Two years later, I earned my Master of Arts in Theatre from Regent University. I absolutely love my job and I look forward to helping my students find a love for the performing arts and gain confidence in themselves whether they are on or off the stage!
Carpe Diem, Seize the Day!
Thank you, thank you very much!
