Mrs. Melanie Westhart, LMSW

Hello HEC family,

My name is Melanie Westhart and I am your School Social Worker. I have been a social worker for over 15 years. I graduated with my Bachelors and Master’s degree from Baylor University in Texas. This is my 6th year as a school social worker with District 5. However, I have worked in schools in both Texas and South Carolina for over 10 years as a mental health counselor. I enjoy being in the schools and helping families, but my favorite part about being a social worker is that I get to serve families and walk alongside them to help them over obstacles they may be facing. I moved to SC from TX with my husband 10 years ago and have established roots as a South Carolinian. We have two beautiful daughters who love to keep us entertained and on our toes. When I am not working, I enjoy family time and traveling. Outdoors is my favorite place to be; especially, when I get to ride my motorcycle.
