Ms. Evan Wise

Hey there!

My name is Evan Wise. I am a fourth-year teacher at Chapin Elementary School. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelors of Elementary Education in 2020. I have professional experience in 3rd and 4th-grade classrooms. I know exactly what is to come and how to prepare your child!

My passion for teaching began in the first grade when I was placed in reading recovery at Irmo Elementary (Pride in 5!). I spent two years with a reading interventionist working to make sure my reading goals were met. This is where my love of reading began. Since then, I have developed a passion for supporting young learners to meet (and exceed!) their literacy goals in the same way that my goals were supported all those years ago. I am so excited to get to know your child this year as we grow to be life-long learners together.

In my free time, I am an avid reader of cookbooks, historical fiction, and memoirs. I am a member of three different book clubs and a member of a local teacher's writers' group! I enjoy line dancing, cooking, and visiting museums. I have two dogs named Maverick and Cotton. Maverick is a bird dog who loves to play fetch. Cotton is a shih-tzu rescue who loves to snack on pound cake, bask in the sun, and receive copious amounts of belly rubs. Some people have said Cotton is a very spoiled dog...I disagree!
