The Board of Trustees approved a redistricting plan during its Jan. 25 meeting. According to the motion the board approved “Scenario 5 for the 2021-2022 school year with two changes. The first change: 1. All properties along Old Lexington will be zoned to Chapin Elementary, and 2. PreK-4 will be deferred for consideration dependent upon the superintendent’s recommendation.”
The current plan that was approved would limit redistricting to elementary students in Chapin attendance zones so that attendance lines can be created for the new elementary school in Chapin. However, the board intends to revisit proposals for redistricting the entire district in the future, trustees said.
