I am excited to be a part of the Yellow Jacket family for the 20-21 school year. I am new to Irmo High School, but a familiar face to teaching and learning and will bring 100% to the students. I will be teaching Biology I CP and Biology I Honors and have twenty years of exemplary teaching experience. I was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina and matriculated in the public school system before graduating from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Biology. I later received my M.Ed in Divergent Learning from Columbia College, as well as my Ed.S in School Leadership from Cambridge College. Currently, I am a doctoral candidate at Liberty University with a focus in Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, I received National Board Certification in 2008, and renewed certification in 2018.
I am married to an educator and we have one beautiful daughter, and a poodle named Zac. I enjoy working out, completing crafts, and spending time with my family. I am a proud member of the Illustrious and Devastating Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. My mantra on teaching is "I believe all students, with their unique needs and talents, can learn. Each student is valued and I will instruct my teaching around the needs of my students."
