"Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today"
Malcolm X
It is a pleasure and an honor to begin the 2020-2021 school year as a new member of the Irmo High School Yellow Jacket Family. My name is Jacqueline Wilson and I will be a Learning Strategies Teacher as well as a Co-Teacher for Foundations/Intermediate Algebra. As I begin my 19th year of teaching, I will bring my love of teaching and excitement for learning to develop a supportive classroom environment. I was born and raised in Orange, New Jersey, and attended the Orange Public School System. I attended Montclair State University and received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Women's Studies. After college, I worked as a Family Service Worker for the County Government for 8 years. In 2003, I began my teaching career at Cleveland Street Elementary school, the school I attended as a child. In 2010, I received my Masters of Arts in Learning Disabilities from Fairleigh Dickerson University. In 2016, I moved to Columbia, South Carolina to be closer to my family.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading, listening to a variety of music, watching movies, and attending church services. I look forward to becoming apart of the Yellow Jacket family and developing lasting relationships with students and their families! Here's to a year of GREAT SUCCESSES!
