Ms. Ashleigh Stowers

Hello Ms. Stowers' Superheroes!!!

My name is Ashleigh Stowers and I am brand new to the state of South Carolina! I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida (the sunshine state) where I grew up with my two younger brothers and my crazy dogs Buckwheat, Diesel, and Harleigh! I love the beach, riding my bike, running, walking, exercising, drinking coffee, hiking and just being outside as often as I can! I have to admit that I love DC Superheroes... mainly Wonder Woman. She is my favorite!!!!! Don't be surprised to find her picture all over my classroom :)

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida in K-12 Exceptional Student Education, where I also received my certification in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. Of course that just wasn't enough and I couldn't stop there. I decided to go back to the University of North Florida where I received a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with a focus on Advanced Teaching and Learning. It was hard work but I feel even more prepared to help my students learn and grow both socially, emotionally, and academically. Over the course of my first three years of teaching I also received my Gifted Endorsement where I learned the in and outs of gifted education. Needless to say I am ready to pour out all that I've learned to my students. I am ready to help them set and achieve their goals, believe in themselves, and find that intrinsic motivation to work hard and be productive citizens. 

I believe in open, honest, and consistent communication between myself, my students, and my parents. I believe in positive notes/calls home and continuously keeping parents in the loop regarding the progress of their child. It takes a village to raise a child and I cannot do this on my own, I need you! I can't wait to meet all of my students and share the love, energy, and knowledge that has been poured into me over my lifetime. I look forward to a school year full of new and exciting opportunities, but even more a year full of fun and hard work. Let's go Superheroes, its time to change the world!
