Ms. Sara Monts

My name is Sara Monts, and I am the dance teacher at Nursery Road Elementary School- Arts Magnet! I graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Dance Education, along with a K-12 Teaching Certification. I am currently attending Columbia College again for a M.Ed specializing in Trauma Informed Education. 

I found my passion for dance and movement early in life. My parents enrolled me in ballet and tap classes at the age of two, and I have continued to study dance over the past twenty years. I was a competitive dancer starting at age six until I graduated high school, and then decided to continue my dance education as a dance major in college. Throughout my dance career, I have performed across South Carolina, the East Coast, and Europe. I’m professionally trained in the styles of ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, and tap with experience in many other forms.

I believe that all people are dancers and have the potential to experience and create movement. My goal as a dance educator is to share my love of movement with as many people as possible!
