The parking application is only one step in the process of obtaining a parking pass for SHHS. Although applications may be turned in, no applications will be processed until the student has obtained a drivers license, taken the Alive @ 25 class, and completed the online parking application. Students are only required to take the Alive @ 25 class once. No other classes may serve as a substitute.PARKING REGULATIONS/INFORMATION – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY* Parking spaces cost $50.00 – the fee will be added to the student's statement and an email will be sent with the online link to pay. You may also pay by cash or check at the main office, Mrs. Imholte (A203), or designated areas during the last week of school.
*Students may not sell or transfer parking permits. There will be a $10.00 fee to replace tags.
*NO Speeding or reckless driving in the student parking lot will be tolerated at any time. The speed limit is 5 mph. Loud and/or obscene music is not allowed. Students who violate this regulation are subject to violation warnings, disciplinary action by the assistant principals, towing of the vehicle at the student’s expense and loss of parking privileges. Vehicles can be searched at any time if there is reasonable suspicion.
*Students with more than five (5) tardies to their first block may have their passes revoked for the remainder of the quarter.
*Parking tag distribution will begin late July/early August and continues throughout the school year.STUDENT PARKING AGREEMENT according to District Policy (File:JIH-E(2))
*PARKING ALONG THE CURB IN ANY SECTION OF THE LOT, PARKING IN THE AREA RESERVED FOR VISITORS THAT IS LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL AND PARKING IN THE TEACHER PARKING LOT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Students who violate this regulation are subject to violation warnings, disciplinary action by the assistant principals, towing of the vehicle at the student’s expense and loss of parking privileges. (Note: Parking along the curb poses a safety risk for students and their vehicles.) Student should only park in their assigned spots. IF someone is parking in your space, Please take a picture of the car & tag, and let the front office or an administrator know immediately.
*Student may not sit in their vehicles before, during, or after school. No loitering around vehicles is permitted at any time. Students may not go to their car during the school day unless permission (written) is given through the front office or an administrator. Students will be held accountable for their parking spot – no trash or writing in the space.
*Any car in the student parking lot without a valid SHHS 2021-2022 parking pass clearly displayed will be given a violation warning for the first offense and then towed, at the car owner’s expense, as a result of second and subsequent offenses. The School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties policy for student parking (File:JCAB-E) reads: “If I do not display a school district parking permit in full view on each vehicle that I park on school premises, my vehicle may be towed at my expense”
*School rules apply to the parking lot. The behavior that is expected of you in the classroom is also expected in the parking lot. Smoking and/or use of tobacco products are not permitted on school property. The entire parking lot is on school property. Any student who uses his/her vehicle to cut class will have his/her parking pass suspended or permanently revoked in addition to disciplinary action outlined in the district/student Behavior Code.* I understand that I am to park only in my assigned area.
