Flexible Innovative Virtual Education
Dr. Jina Blount serves as the Director of the Flexible Innovative Virtual Education (FIVE) program. The FIVE program was created for the 2020-2021 school year by School District Five of Lexington and Richland Counties in response to the pandemic in an effort to provide a virtual education option for our students. FIVE will continue to be offered for the 2021-2022 school year as a program of choice for students in our district serving grades 1 - 12.
Dr. Blount is entering her 28th year as an educator. She has served the district as an Assistant Principal for Instruction at Spring Hill High School, Assistant Principal at Dutch Fork High School, and Assistant Principal for Instruction at Irmo Middle School.
Originally from Lexington, KY, Dr. Blount moved to South Carolina to attend the University of South Carolina. She has obtained a Ph.D., Ed.S., and M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Leadership. She also has a B.A. in English. Dr. Blount began her career teaching English at Lexington High School.
