My name is Sara Wheeler and this is my first year at Irmo Elementary School. This is my ninth year teaching. I taught in Arizona and Lexington 4, and have been with District Five for 5 years now. I am so excited to be teaching at Irmo this year and can't wait to get to know all of the families!

Education

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a Masters degree in Literacy, Language, and Culture. I am also National Board Certified in Literacy. I have certifications in Upper and Lower Montessori as well as Gifted and Talented education.

A Little About Me

I grew up in Gilbert, Arizona with my brother and sister. Both of my parents are educators and inspired me to be a teacher from an early age. I moved to South Carolina with my husband 7 years ago so that we could be closer to his family. We love living here and visit both the mountains and the beach as often as we can! In my free time, I love to go to the gym, spend time outside on the lake, bake yummy desserts, and do art projects.

We are going to have a wonderful year in Second Grade!!
