Mr. G

My name is Terry GeFellers.  I am very excited to be your child’s kindergarten teacher.  I’m originally from the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. This will be my eighteenth-year teaching. I taught a year in pre-school before moving to South Carolina. In SC, I taught sixth grade in Fairfield County for two years. I then transferred to Richland One where I taught fifth grade for 5 years, third grade for 6 years, and first grade for 4 years. This will be my first year at Harbison West Elementary in Lexington Richland 5 and I am so excited to be part of this family with great expectations for the years to come.

I received my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Virginia Intermont College in Virginia with a minor in child psychology. I continued my education with a master’s Degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College in 2008. I have two sons living in Florida. I had my first grandchild born in June and love spoiling her every minute I can.

It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I attempt to teach with a passion for all my subjects so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners. I have high expectations for ALL my students and with a little work, they will accomplish independence and excellence in their academics.
