Mrs. Denise Tweito

Mrs. Tweito has taught choral music in middle schools across the state for over 30 years. She is excited to be teaching on a new and exciting journey at Harbison West!

She grew up in Irmo, graduated from Irmo High, and Winthrop University with a degree in Music Education/ emphasis in Vocal Music.

Her hobbies include: singing solos, playing piano, reading and gardening. She has been married for 37 years and has 2 grown sons and 7 grandchildren.   

Her favorite motto is: "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." She believes that  establishing positive relationships with her students first is the key to successful teaching, and then you can have FUN teaching them music. Every child is unique in his/her own way and it's best to zero in on their strengths from the beginning. 

Her favorite musician is her youngest son, Justin, who is a singer-songwriter from Nashville, TN.
