My name is Terri Lynn Corley and I LOVE being a Navigator! This is my 18th year here at RSES, but I have been in the profession since graduating from Columbia College in 1994. After college, I received my Master's Degree from Lander University in 1996 and began teaching 3rd grade at a small rural school in Greenwood, SC. I taught there until 2000 and then moved back to Irmo where I worked as a 4th grade teacher at HE Corley before coming to RSES. After teaching 4th grade here for 18 years, I moved to 5th grade to teach ELA and Social Studies, although I did teach in FIVE during the 20-21 school year as well! This is my 29th year of teaching!
My husband and I have been married for 28 years and have 3 grown children ages 24, 21, and 18. All three of my children attended RSES, and they all had great teachers and experiences here! During the little bit of spare time I do have, I enjoy photography and creating digital scrapbooks. I also enjoy shopping, traveling to historic sites to learn about our state/nation, and reading historical fiction, non-fiction texts, and books by Dorothea Benton Frank. I love summertime reading!
Here at RSES, I am elated when I see my students thrive! When they have an open mind, begin to love learning, and get enthusiastic about something new, it makes my ♥ sing. I want each child to find something they are passionate about and work on it with perseverance so they feel proud and successful! That is my ultimate goal in teaching!
