Dear Parents and Students,

I am excited to welcome you to our second grade classroom for the 2018-2019 school year!  I am so very honored to be your child's teacher this year.  You are your child's first, best teacher, and I am happy to join you in watching your child grow this school year.  It has been a tremendous pleasure to be a member of the staff at LMES for seventeen years.  While at Lake Murray I have taught fifth grade and second grade.  In previous school settings, I have also taught first and third grade. My entire teaching experience spans thirty-four years.  The one thing that I know after spending all of these years in education is that I love to learn, and I love to foster learning in others.

My life away from school is filled with music.  I sing in the church choir at Union United Methodist, and I sing with the Sandlapper Singers. Music is very important to me.

I am a Carolina Gamecock through and through!  My dad coached football at Carolina, my brother played soccer there, and I sang in Carolina Alive.  Go Gamecocks!

My son, Christopher, graduated from USC in the spring with a degree in history. Christopher attended LMES, and it was fun having him here with me.  He plans to teach at the secondary level.  I am very proud that he is planning to teach and instill a love of learning in others.  I always enjoy any time that I get to spend with him!

When I am not working on our classroom, singing or cheering on the Gamecocks, I enjoy crafts and reading.

I am sure that this will be a wonderful year of exciting learning!  I am looking forward to getting to know your children as we move through a great second grade experience!
