Mrs. Fultz

¡Hola! Me llamo Keila Contreras-Fultz. I am so excited to be here at LMES! I am originally from El Paso, Texas. I am married to a wonderful man named David and have two sons, Christian and Noah. Christian lives in North Carolina and Noah will be a freshman at Clemson this fall. We are so excited for him! I have been teaching Spanish for ten years. In my classes, we learn a lot through Total Physical Response (TPR). This means that we learn through stories, singing, and dancing. We have a lot of fun while learning a different language and culture. For this reason, it is essential for students to participate. I have high expectations and ask my students to talk and practice Spanish a lot. It is not important to me that they get it perfect; It is important that they try!

I look forward to igniting an interest in the learning of different cultures and languages! I know this will be a great year! Thank you for the opportunity of allowing me to teach your children.

Ms. Iliana Castillon

İBienvenidos! Hola..and Hello! I am embarking upon my 23rd year in education. I’m originally from Southern California and moved to South Carolina in 2013! I am very excited to be here at Chapin Elementary and in Chapin in general. My endorsements include ESOL, Spanish, Primary Language Instruction, Elementary Instruction and Adult Education. I am Highly Qualified in Spanish and am currently working on my Gifted and Talented Certification. Before teaching at CES, I taught 3rd-6th grade Primary Language Instruction in Spanish in Lexington 1. Prior to that, I taught Dual Spanish Immersion for 12 years in California.  I am a 1996 graduate of San Diego State University, University of Southern California in 1991 and earned my Master’s Degree from Point Loma Nazarene in 2005. Currently, I am studying to receive my Doctorate in Higher Education with an Emphasis in Instructional Leadership.

I absolutely adore my native Spanish language and hopefully my love of the language will be contagious to my students here in Chapin. English is not my native language. I actually learned English in school just before entering middle school. I understand wholeheartedly all the trials and tribulations that come with acquiring a second language. Since moving to Chapin, I have been blessed with a wonderful home and property which I share with my 2 children, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have one daughter and one son. When I am not teaching, you’ll find me in the garden on our property or spending time with my family on our back porch. İAdelante!
