Hello, my name is Rebecca Gums. I am from Chapin, South Carolina. I graduated from Chapin High School in District 5. I attended college at the University of South Carolina Upstate, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. I am certified to teach grades 2-6. While at USC Upstate, I was a SC Teaching Fellow and I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I also have a Master's Degree in Integrating Technology in the Classroom K-12.
This is my eighth year in education. This will be my second year in my position as a Digital Integration Specialist (DIS)! I love working with students who are dedicated to learning. I am excited to work alongside teachers and students teaching and helping them use technology in many ways!
I look forward to helping students solve problems, work collaboratively, and set their own learning goals! My goal as a DIS is to collaborate with teachers, help children develop a love for learning, and become life-long learners.
A little about me: I come from a family of teachers. My mom is a teacher, as well as my sister-in-law. I love the outdoors. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, and reading.
I am determined that this is going to be a great year!
