Mrs. Amanda May

I am beyond blessed to be part of the CES school family.  My family and I love our beautiful town of Chapin.  We are a soccer and Disney loving family that also loves spending time on Lake Murray with our three beautiful boys Bryson, Caleb and Asher.

This will be my 18th year of teaching. I have a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from the University of Delaware.  I recently taught First Grade for four years here at CES but prior to moving to South Carolina, I taught for 13 years in Orlando Florida.  During that time, I was a Pre-K teacher for 2 years and Kindergarten teacher for 11 years in the elementary setting.  During my years in Orlando, I  also taught adult students at Orlando Tech.  My adult education courses were tailored towards students who wished to work in a childcare setting to help them learn early childhood standards, behavioral education, and theories in Early Childhood. I have also presented at Early Childhood conferences on behavior management and literacy concepts.

Teaching is both my joy and passion.  I am so excited to share my love of teaching with the Chapin community.   It matters that my students are in an environment in which they are loved and looked at as individual learners.  My job is to help them reach their highest potential as a well-rounded student that is engaged in learning as well as being a wonderful person in our Chapin community.  I am looking forward to a great year!
