The Basics

Hi! My name is Emma Sheppard, and I am 24 years old! I live in Columbia, with my new puppy, Ivy! I will be your child’s third grade teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. This is my first-year teaching in a public school setting; I have previous experience in Montessori Education. I could not be more excited to start this year! When I’m not teaching, I love to spend time with friends and family, travel, and watch Gamecock Football!

My Education

I graduated from High Point University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Nonprofit Leadership & Management. I then went on to pursue my Master of Arts in Teaching Degree in Elementary Education, at USC-- which I completed in May 2019.

My Goals

As a teacher, this year I want to create a classroom community that is accepting and inclusive. I also want to work with students to take risks with their education, create a safe space to throw out ideas, be bold, and not to stop working until they are proud!
