Flexible Innovative Virtual Education program (FIVE) Update

Lexington-Richland School District Five Board of Trustees approved an updated minimum number of students for the high school (9-12) FIVE enrollment and a modified model of instruction as recommended by District administration during its March 1 meeting. The previous minimum of 400 students for grades 9-12 was not met in the initial application. The new minimum of 315 students allows the District to offer families that applied to FIVE for the 2021-22 school year the opportunity to accept the invitation. Acceptance emails will be sent this week to families that previously applied. Additional information will be shared with these families through a separate communication this week.

FIVE was created for the 2020-21 school year to give families a virtual option during the pandemic. For the 2021-22 school year, FIVE will become a program of Choice for families enrolled in School District Five.  As a program of Choice, the FIVE course guide offers classes required for graduation.  Additional limited course offerings are available.
