School District Five students win national awards in poetry and art contest

IRMO Several Lexington-Richland School District Five students won national awards in the annual National Career Development Association’s (NCDA) Poetry and Art Contest.

 

The theme for the 56th annual Poetry & Art contest was "The Future of Work: The Role of Artificial Intelligence and Automation.” The National Career Development Association (NCDA) provides professional development, publications, standards, and advocacy to practitioners and educators who inspire and empower individuals to achieve their career and life goals.   

 

School District Five students placed in the following categories:

 

High School

1st Place Art: Allison Wetmore (Chapin High)

2nd Place Poetry: Aidan Stam (Chapin High)

  

6th-8th Grade

1st Place Art: Mallory Greene (Chapin Middle)

 

National Award winners were notified by NCDA on May, 25 2022. The winners were also recognized at the Global Career Development Conference in June in Anaheim, CA.
