TSA Performs Well in State
The DFHS Technology Student Association (TSA) attended the State Conference in Myrtle Beach, placing 2nd overall in the state. We brought home six 1st place, eight 2nd place, and eight 3rd place trophies. Ms. McShane’s VEX Robotics team placed 1st in their competition, and Mr. Lindler’s Coding teams swept the competition with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Mr. Landreneau’s Extemporaneous Speech students, Connor Willoughby, Kwame Kennedy, and Caroline Norris also swept the competition with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The Debate team of Meaghan Ainsworth and Connor Willoughby placed 3rd. The Biotechnology Team of Rachel Faris, Ben Alkahatib, Pan Naing, and Bryson Gregg placed 2nd. The Engineering Design Team of Kameron Stewart, John Sweringen, Tommy Metts and Mark Stacy placed 3rd, and the team of Tommy Pinckney and Owen Peterson placed 2nd. Aleah Solomon placed 3rd in the Future Technology Teacher competition. Guytano Mancine placed 2nd in Music Production, and the team of Taj Thomas, Jaden Suber, Josh Coleman, and Jordan Trapp placed 3rd. Jaylen Leonard placed 3rd in Scientific Visualization, and Jenna Hofseth placed 3rd in STEM Careers. The team of Nick Holden, Deric Hanko, and Tamia Burgess placed 1st in Promotional Design. Kate Land and Seth McPhail placed 1st in Technology Problem Solving. Kate Land also placed 2nd in prepared Presentation and Maja Mushtaq placed 1st. The team of Liam Martin, Cameron Muccio, Connor Willoughby, Johnelle Weekley, and Erica Meece placed 2nd in Video Game Design. Wyatt Boyer and Austin Meier placed 2nd in the Webmaster Competition. The students had a great time and represented DFHS well. Many of these students have qualified for Nationals this Summer.
